Our Paradise

Southeast Alaska is an endless paradise of untouched islands.

With over 2,000 islands and 10,000 miles of shoreline to explore, don’t miss this experience with the last great wilderness.

Fishing & Seafood

From the ocean to the streams, the caliber and quality of our fishing experiences are unmatched. We catch Alaska’s finest selections of seafood to enjoy, served fresh and prepared as gourmet fare.

Our favorites include Salmon Fishing, Setting Shrimp & Crab Pots, and Halibut Fishing.

Want to take some home? We can process and freeze your catch on-board.

Trout are available in early May, King Salmon in late May to early July and Coho salmon in late July through September.

Halibut, crab and shrimp are available all season.

Scenery

The beauty of Southeast Alaska is unmatched. From morning till night we encounter breathtaking scenery. From thundering glaciers to 3,000 foot fjords with cascading waterfalls.

On the Sumdum we strive for unique rare places. Captain Bob always enjoys visiting with guests to ensure the route chosen best meets the desires and needs of our guests.

Alaska History & Native Culture

While Natives Tribes of Alaska remain a healthy and vibrant culture, evidence of their ancient lives here can still be seen occasionally. We visit petroglyphs, stone fish traps, historic totems and Indian villages.

Other places still show signs of early settlers. From abandoned salmon canneries to a still vibrant Commercial Fishing lifestyle.

Activities & Fun!

Aboard the Sumdum we love doing things… Fun things! Our goal is to experience this untouched wilderness in its primitive form and interact with it in the most memorable ways.

From Sea Kayaking a pristine fjord, boating, paddle boarding, hiking, beach combing and even an evening beach fire with Smores.

For the extreme adventurer we have plenty of unusual experiences even the most experienced adventurer may not have tried.
